Christmas Part 2

This is really long...beware! And there's still more to come! We spent the actually Christmas weekend in Abilene with my family. It was so fun to be there & enjoy time with all of them. The boys were so fun to watch this year & were so excited about everything. Mom & Dad were in a car accident the weekend before, and mom came out with several broken ribs. We are all thankful as it could have been so much worse. But she is still very store & not needing to do much of anything. I was able to go early to help her get everything ready for Christmas & company! It was so nice to be there to spend time with her & help get everything ready for the holiday.

Friday night David drove in & we had Christmas with mom's side of the family. Everyone was able to be there this year, it was so nice to all be together. We have lots of traditions & enjoyed getting to show David & Brady (my cousin's wife) all of our fun! Sadly, I forget to take any pictures!!

Saturday the girls went to the new pottery place in Abilene. We had more fun & are so excited to go back again! Mom got some cute pictures that I will try to add later.

That evening Zach & Meg cooked a VERY yummy dinner & we enjoyed playing a game. Dad showed us all up with his charades skills.

Sunday was church & then Christmas with dad's side of the family. It was the first holiday David & I have gotten to be at since we got married. I was excited for him to get to know some of my family better.

Here is me & sweet little Will after church.
That afternoon the boys went to the shooting range & then we all went to Sharon's BBQ to celebrate David's early birthday. After dinner we went home for Cheesecake & presents...or fresents at Owen calls them!
Here is David getting a little help from Owen & Clay.

Monday was a great Christmas Eve!! I love all the traditions we have in my family & I am so excited to pass them on with my own family one day. Christmas Eve is full of traditions & always a fun day. This year we did a few new things that just might become new traditions. We woke up & had a yummy waffles bar. We all brought our waffle makers & made all kinds of toppings. Here is a cute picture of Owen mixing up the waffle batter.
Here are Owen & Clay with their new bouncy balls!

And here they are with part of their "Christmas Eve Hunt Gift." Every year mom & did send us on a gift hunt around the house. They added a new twist this year with pictures as clues!

David had some sweet help getting the ribs ready for dinner from Clay. He sat there for probably 30 minutes "helping" us with dinner. He just said "num num" the whole time. (That is Clay for yum yum!)

We ate dinner...David's ribs were a big hit & then had a Gingerbread House making contest! We got so tickled at how secretive we were all being about our plans for our houses. It was so much fun. Meg had found some fun candies for us to use. They all turned out so cute & different.
Here we are with our masterpiece. We even had ceiling fans on the porch!
We found Clay helping to "clean" the table after our gingerbread mess.
